Thank you all for visiting Emmettsworld. I have closed this blog but wanted to keep Emmett's story up for anyone interested. Below are the archives regarding Emmett's bout with IVDD. I hope you will share his story with others so they will be encouraged to give their dog time to recover from IVDD instead of giving up hope and ending their dog's life prematurely. I apologize that some of the photos are no longer up. We believe Emmett's story is one of inspiration and we are so blessed for the advice, assistance, and many means of support that we received from people all over the world when Emmett was battling IVDD.

Emmett & Mommy 2001 Who the Heck is Emmett? I'm a 7-year-old, three-quarter sized ("tweenie"), red dachshund. I have successfully recovered from an episode of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). To learn more about IVDD, please visit Dodger's List

Thank you to everyone who contributed support, funds and prayers to help me recover!!!

My owners are Simone and James. They're pretty cool parents. Mommy set this blog site up to amuse herself. Since I don't have much "dexterity" she did the communicating here. She called this site "Emmett's World" because basically I run the house. She wrote her thoughts here, because, well, my day is pretty boring...not much to blog about. Basically, I sleep, eat, sleep, relieve myself, sleep, play, and take naps in between. In fact, I need a nap now after dictating all this to her. Lambie is my best pal. We have a love-hate relationship. That's us in the picture at the top of this page. Thanks for visiting us here!
